SUBJECT : Spot Report on Illegal Transportation of Crab Fry (Alimango)

On September 11, 2020 at about 12:30AM, PNP personnel of Lianga Municipal Police Station led by PSSg Ariel G Caña together with elements of 1st SDS PMFC, conducted Quarantine Checkpoint in National Highway of P-1 Barangay Payasan, Lianga, Surigao del Sur with estimated distance of 5 kilometers more or less from this station. While conducting checkpoint, they flagged down one (1) Unit White Toyota Hi-Ace Van bearing plate no. AAF 9937 driven by Cyril Jeff Jabagat Lakag 39 years old, single, a resident of P-5, Brgy. Sto. Niño, Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, together with two companions namely; Mayo Braza Apura I, 32 years old, married, jobless, a resident of Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur, and Jessie Pedrozo Nalasa, 31 years old, single, jobless, a resident of P-5, Brgy. Sto. Niño, Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, upon verification PNP personnel saw a several boxes inside the van and asked what is the content of the boxes, they said Crab lets or Crab fry and they travel from Cateel Davao Oriental going to Pagadian City without any papers or Auxiliary Permit to present. Confiscated from the suspects were White Toyota Hi-Ace Van, 19 boxes of Crab Fry with 100 pieces content in each box with a total estimated market value of Php28,000.00. Arrested persons was informed of their constitutional rights and brought to Lianga MPS including the confiscated items for proper disposition and documentation. After documentation on the arrested personalities, then was referred to Municipal Agriculture Office received by Mr. Ricardo L. Pocon who conducted inventory and verification on the confiscated items.
